Bernaldine Bennett, Navajo Artist, has made a beautiful 'pot' that she has etched, painted and decorated with a bear design. She has etched traditional designs including feathers, mountians and more in this most impressive piece. Adding the glazing on the top third of the pot has really enhanced an already beautiful piece. Bernaldine has signed "Bernaldine Bennett - Navajo" in the bottom of the pot. This is sure to get many compliments!
THE BEAR STORY: Many Native American Tribes honored the spirit of the bear as a magical being, the Shaman of the animal world. The Bear is considered a totem for healing, protection and good fortune. The pot measures 7" tall, 8-1/2 " wide and has a 3-1/2" opening at the top. Bernaldine has used very typical southwestern colors to decorate this pot--including turquoise, sky blue, charcoal gray, various browns and clays and black glazing. Really elegant!
