Navajo Indian Belt Buckle Pueblo Overlay Sterling Silver Calvin Peterson

Calvin Peterson, Navajo silversmith and artist, has created a beautiful Pueblo design Sterling Silver Overlay Belt Buckle. He has stamped the back of this lovely belt buckle with 'C P - Sterling'. The belt buckle measures 3" wide and varies from 2" high to 1-1/4" high on the ends. It is a unique and interesting shape. It will take up to a 1-1/4" wide belt. What a great item for that special person in your life!

Calvin has a multistory pueblo with lots of details including ladders from level to level, smoke coming from the kivas and roofs, and openings in the rooms. This wonderful belt buckle weighs 44 grams--a sturdy buckle!! This is a true treasure!

          Overlay is created by “sweating”, or soldering, two pieces of silver together.  The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously cut out of silver.  The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured to produce a contrasting background.  They then carefully file, buff and polish to produce the fine finish on their beautiful item.p
