Navajo Indian Bracelet Coral Sterling Silver Edison Etsitty

Navajo Indian Bracelet Coral Sterling Silver Edison Etsitty

Navajo Indian Bracelet Coral Sterling Silver Edison Etsitty

Navajo artist and silversmith, Edison Etsitty, has handmade a beautiful sterling silver bracelet highlighted by a chunk of all natural red coral. The sturdy bracelet weighs 37 grams. The coral chunk measures 5/8" long by 1/4" wide. It is set in a beautiful sterling silver setting measuring 1-1/8" wide by 7/8" long. The bracelet band is just magnificent. Three sterling strips start at each side of the setting. They come together with a clasp--then they spread apart--then come together again then spread out again to finally join at the ends of the bracelet. So effective and gorgeous. Very sturdy.

The bracelet is minimally adjustable by squeezing it. The inside measurement from end to end is 5-1/2" plus it has a 1-1/2" opening. A lovely bracelet--sure to receive many compliments!

Edison has stamped "E. Etsitty" "Sterling" on the back of the setting part of the bracelet.

Coral is one of a few gemstones of organic origin. Coral is the skeletal remains of marine animals called coral polyps. Colonies of these tiny creatures build branching structures as they grow, gradually forming reefs and atolls. Most precious coral is found in warm waters. This deep red coral is found in the Mediterranean Sea. The oldest known findings of red coral date from the Mesopotamian civilization, i.e. from about 3000 BC. Believed to bring protection, coral was given as a gift by parents to their young children . Mohs Hardness: 3-4.
