Navajo and renowned silversmith, Tom Valentino, has hand crafted a beautiful and showy belt buckle. He has a beautiful buffalo surrounded by hills, trees, and grasses overlay in this belt buckle. The artist, Tom Valentino, has stamped the inside of the buckle with his signature stamp of a 'T" on the back--along with 'sterling'. His silverwork is impressive.

The buckle measures 2-3/8" long by 1-9/16" tall. It would hold a belt up to 1-1/4" wide.

Overlay is created by “sweating”, or soldering, two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured to produce a contrasting background. They then carefully file, buff and polish to produce the fine finish on their beautiful item.<p>

The BUFFALO STORY:  The Buffalo meant life to the Native Americans of the Plains. The Buffalo provided food, tools, shelter, and clothing. The buffalo became the living symbol of prosperity.
