Navajo Indian Watch Mens White Buffalo Turquoise Tips Sterling Silver Steve Francisco

Navajo Indian Watch Mens White Buffalo Turquoise Tips Sterling Silver Steve Francisco

A distinctive and beautiful watch for that special man. An expandable watch band and a Select time - Quartz - 1-1/4" diameter watch have been connected and decorated by 2 sterling silver tip pieces 1-1/4" long. The tips measure 1" wide at the widest and 3/4" wide at the narrowest at the bottom. The inlay is 1-1/4" long and 5/8" wide at the top and 3/8" wide at the bottom.

Navajo, Steve Francisco, has fashioned a beautiful and impressive man's watch tips of White Buffalo Turquoise inlay in sterling silver. His craftsmanship is well known. He has stamped "SF - Sterling" on the back of the tips. The silver work really enhances this watch. Roping and stamping made a stunning combination around the inlay White Buffalo Turquoise. A piece to be treasured!! The white face has black numbers--very easy to read.

White Buffalo Turquoise is quite unique and rare. It was discovered in the Dry Creek Mine north of Auston Nevada in 1993. Because of its hardness, it was sent to be assayed and it was in fact White Turquoise. The chemical name for Turquoise is Aluma Phosphate which in its pure chemical state is white. Turquoise takes on color via an intrusion of either copper (blue color) or iron (green color). To date, no other vein of gem quality white turquoise has been discovered anywhere else in the world. Because White Turquoise is as rare as a white buffalo, the Indians call it "White Buffalo" Turquoise. The White Buffalo Turquoise is itself considered sacred and powerful. The jewelry-making is an honoring or tribute to the "White Buffalo" Turquoise.
